Stock and purchases
Keep track of your stock
Stock moves by itself when you invoice and when you buy — and what to do when the count is off.
You do not update stock by hand
Finalizing an invoice takes the items out of stock. Recording a purchase puts them back in. Both happen as part of documents you were creating anyway, so there is no separate stock-keeping job at the end of the day.
Stock is a history, not a number
Dukaaan does not keep a single quantity it overwrites. It keeps every movement — this invoice took out 40, this purchase put in 100, this adjustment removed 3 — and the current stock is what those add up to.
That is why you can always answer “where did those twelve pieces go”. A counter that gets overwritten cannot tell you.
When the shelf and the screen disagree
Breakage, samples, a miscount at the last stock take. Go to Inventory → Adjust, enter the correction and record the reason. The adjustment joins the history like everything else.
Low stock
Set a low-stock level on an item and it is flagged when it drops there, so you find out before a customer does.
